Start Using Quick Health Data Online The system provides state- and county-level data for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US territories and possessions. Data are available by gender, race and ethnicity and come from a variety of national and state sources. The system is organized into eleven main categories, including demographics, mortality, natality, reproductive health, violence, prevention, disease and mental health. Within each main category, there are numerous subcategories.

Spotlight: Adolescent Physical Activity and Nutrition

Adolescents’ health status, as well as their health-related eating and activity behaviors can impact their well-being and their health during their adult years. The goal of the BodyWorks program, developed by the Office on Women’s Health, is to help parents and caregivers of adolescents promote healthy eating and physical activity within their families in order to prevent poor health outcomes and maintain health status for adolescents. 1 BodyWorks equips parents and caregivers of adolescents with tools and training that can guide and enable monitoring of progress towards healthy eating and physical activity goals.

Quick Health Data Online offers many different types of data related to adolescent health, nutrition and physical activity, including information on:
2001 to 2007 percent of youth who are overweight.  Data are also available for 2001 to 2007 percent of youth who are obese.

Data on the system are provided for males and females with race and ethnicity details to enable comparisons between different population groups. Data can be used to generate charts such as these, which present percentages of youth who are overweight or obese adobe logo, the percent of youth who have met recommended levels of physical activity adobe logo, and the percentage of youth who report eating five or more fruit and vegetables per day adobe logo and those who report drinking three or more glasses of milk per day adobe logo.

What's New, May 2009

The 2009 Edition of the Women's Health and Mortality Chartbook is now available. The Chartbook presents 27 health indicators, which highlight some of the key issues related to women's health that are being measured regularly at the state level. The Chartbook is a statistical resource on women's health in each of the states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and was developed to provide readers with an easy-to-use collection of current state data on critical issues of relevance to women.
